What's Available in Lagos
Lagos is the Algarve's most well-connected surf base — a lively historic town with an excellent marina, a range of accommodation, and multiple surf beaches within easy reach. Meia Praia, a 4 km sandy beach east of the marina, offers consistent beach break suitable for all levels. Praia da Luz, 8 km west, is sheltered and beginner-friendly. Further west toward Sagres, the breaks become progressively more powerful. Lagos has a well-developed surf school scene and a vibrant social life that appeals particularly to younger surfers and those combining a beach holiday with learning to surf. The town has all the infrastructure for surf tourism — gear shops, board hire, surf camps, and great restaurants.
